Our handmade, hand painted, triple glazed Ceramic Safety Grater does everything your old metal ‘knuckle buster’ does only faster and with better results but most important it won’t grate your fingers. Grating garlic and ginger doesn’t have to require Band-Aids! The grated food is easy to remove from the grater using the brush. What you grate is what you get! Grate one clove of garlic and you’ll have one clove to use in your recipe. Metal graters and garlic presses can’t make that claim and always waste food.

Some very simple instructions:

Using the Garlic Peeler Tube...

Simply put a dry garlic clove inside the tube, roll it briskly on a firm surface with the palm of your hand until you hear a “crackling” sound, and your garlic is peeled! Note: the tube and the garlic need to be dry.

Using the Ceramic Safety Grater...

1. When working with products that release water or oil, such as Garlic, Ginger, Daikon, Onion or Citrus Rind, moisten the surface of the Grater by rinsing it under the water faucet before use.

2. When working with dry products such as Nutmeg or Parmesan Cheese, keep the Grater dry.

3. Hold Garlic Cloves between your thumb and index finger with the root pointing up and the tip pointing down. Ginger and other products can usually be held in any convenient position.

4. Grate/rub the Garlic over the “teeth” on the bottom of the dish, in circular motions or back and forth. Use any motion that is comfortable for you.

5. Use the brush to either "sweep" a desired amount of puree or shavings onto other foods, or brush into a pile, working from the outside to the middle of the dish, and then simply turn the dish upside-down to transfer grated foods to another surface or on to other dishes.

6. You won't believe how easy it is to clean. After use, wash the Grater, Garlic Peeler Tube and the Brush with dish detergent either in the dishwasher or by hand.

7. If you prefer a stiffer brush, simply trim the bristles using scissors. The shorter the bristles, the stiffer the brush. Trim a small amount at a time and test it. You can always trim off more, but you cannot add it back!

The Grater is also excellent for Nutmeg and Orange or Lemon Peel for Zest. It's absolutely the best ever for Ginger Root. The fiber strings of the Ginger are not grated giving you a very smooth, flavorful paste in just seconds. Using a knife, occasionally trim the strings off the Ginger Root then continue grating.

To grate Chocolate or Parmesan Cheese, chill thoroughly in the refrigerator or freezer before grating. Both need to be hard in order to grate.

This short video shows you how easy our grater is to use!

<embed src="http://www.youtube.com/get_player" type="application/x-shockwave-flash"width="320" height="266" bgcolor="#FFFFFF"flashvars="flvurl=http://v21.nonxt6.googlevideo.com/videoplayback?id%3D9f4f15a1e1a0faca%26itag%3D5%26app%3Dblogger%26ip%3D0.0.0.0%26ipbits%3D0%26expire%3D1331662019%26sparams%3Did,itag,ip,ipbits,expire%26signature%3D4C52B0BADDC518202EE8E828D3819C9CCBADFB0F.6479641E2DDACBA071A9174EDDE7AE78E235EF99%26key%3Dck1&iurl=http://video.google.com/ThumbnailServer2?app%3Dblogger%26contentid%3D9f4f15a1e1a0faca%26offsetms%3D5000%26itag%3Dw160%26sigh%3DZfTpV7UU_JEWBD7v-JG36fqbfds&autoplay=0&ps=blogger"allowFullScreen="true" />

Our Ceramic Graters are handmade and our patterns and colors change often.
